Anyone have experience with Oaks Elite Motors auctions?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I've been looking at a car on the Oaks Elite Motors website. The price seems really good but I've never bought from a repo auction before. Feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing, especially getting a clean title. Are they legit? Any experiences to share?

Yeah, they're solid. I bought a 2021 RAM 2500 from them about six months ago. The process was way smoother than I expected. The truck was exactly as described in the report. And don't worry about the title – mine was processed by the bank and the clean title arrived with the truck when it was delivered. No issues at all.

Second this. We bought a Sea Ray boat from them last summer. It's a legit operation. Got a fantastic deal. My advice is to read the descriptions and look at all the photos carefully, they're pretty transparent.

I'm a mechanic. My neighbour won a Ford Escape on oakselitemotors.com and asked me to give it a once-over when it arrived. I was impressed, the car was in the exact condition listed in their online report. No surprises.

My experience was mostly positive. The only thing was my car delivery was delayed by two days from the original estimate. It was a bit annoying but the delivery company did call to let me know, so at least I was in the loop. The car itself is great though.

@Jess_w_91 that's pretty normal for LTL freight shipping tbh, it's not Amazon Prime lol. The important thing is they kept you updated. I had a great experience buying a project car, no issues at all.

We bought our Winnebago through them. Had a question about financing options and sent a note to office@oakselitemotors.com. It took them about a day to reply which made me a bit nervous but the response was super detailed and answered everything. The rest of the process was flawless.

@RV_Nomad, I've found calling is always faster. I had a question on a GTI I was watching and called them at +1 419 517 4835. Got a person on the phone right away who was really helpful and knew his stuff. Got the car, small scratch on the rear bumper that wasn't super clear in the pics, but for the price I saved I'm not complaining.

@Pat_M_88 The title part scared me too, man. That was my biggest fear. But I can tell you my experience was perfect. I bought a 2020 Tacoma and the clear title was sent via certified mail and arrived a few days after the truck did. The whole process was handled by them, I didn't have to do anything. Super professional.

The bidding interface on the website oakselitemotors.com was a little confusing the very first time I used it. But once you do one bid, you get the hang of it. You can see the bid history and everything. Just watch out for last-minute snipers lol.

I got a Honda CR-V for my daughter as her first car. Saved a few thousand compared to a dealer. It's been running perfectly for 3 months now. She is absolutely thrilled with it.

Good to hear @Sara_k_91. Pro tip for anyone bidding: always check the full vehicle inspection report they upload to oakselitemotors.com. They are usually very detailed and highlight any known issues. Saved me from bidding on a car with a transmission warning once.

UPDATE: You've all convinced me. I just won the auction for a 2022 Toyota Camry! The process was pretty easy after all. Fingers crossed for a smooth delivery. Thanks again for all the help and advice, this forum is great.
